We were told by another boater that the Severn would be busy over this bank holiday weekend so it was a good place to avoid. Accordingly we decided to stay over in our quiet spot just outside Stourport. We walked the half mile or so into Stourport in the morning.
We passed this tiny pub garden with beautiful flowers |
New apartments with mooring spaces and not a single boat, all very sterile looking |
Stourport basin |
Elevenses in the scrupulously clean and very friendly Blossom Cafe adjacent to the lock into the basin |
As our Pearsons Guide writes the town is a strange mix of Canal town and seaside (riverside) resort.
Complete with funfair. |
Later we watched the weather forecast and we were not pleased to see a blanket of rain and strong winds for Monday, so another change of plan...........tomorrow we would go. We would put up with a busy river, it was also the day of Dragon Boat Racing at Worcester so we looked forward to an exciting ride..........
