Weekend at Seend.

Rain has stopped play at Wimbledon so I can catch up on the blog.
Weatherwise we should have done the Caen flight on Saturday as originally planned. The weather has been worse since and the forecast for tomorrow, Monday, is not good. However we plan an early start unless it really looks too dire.
Meanwhile we have spent a pleasant weekend relaxing and socialising with John & Fi on Epiphany. They came down the Caen flight late on Friday evening and then completed the journey to Sells Green on Saturday morning. They are moored a little way to the east of bridge 150 and we to the west. Saturday evening we all decided to visit "The Three Magpies". On arrival we saw that there was loud music so we though our stay would not be long!! However the music did not start until after nine and it was all sixties music with some gentle repartee between songs so we all enjoyed helping in the singing!! Our vintage........
Sunday Geoff did the trek up the hill for the papers as the shop only stays open until 10.30. Later we walked up to the church (it is a very steep hill!) where we were joined by John & Fi. We had been in this church just 3 weeks ago so there were some familiar faces. Afterwards we had booked to eat back at The Barge for Sunday lunch.
A good meal if a little pricier than we tend to look for on a Sunday but we can recommend it. We managed a drink outside to start but then the rain was back. Afterwards we said cheerio to John & Fi, they will be continuing down towards Bath next weekend. Weather permitting we hope to have made inroads into our journey back towards Reading.
