Ever onwards.....but not too far

A positive lie-in this morning as we wanted to pick up fuel at Aynho Wharf and they don't open until 9
We were there just after that hour and availed ourselves of all facilites whilst there, although it does go against the grain to pay £2 to empty a loo cassette...it is not that long ago it was only £1 in the places that charge........

This stretch of the Oxford has a fair number of lift bridges but all have been open apart from the one just north of Thrupp.
Approaching Aynho Weir Lock
This is one of the diamond shaped locks on the Oxford.. This is where the river Cherwell makes a very brief appearance in the canal.

If you enlarge the picture you can read the addition......which says that the board to which the notice refers is absent.!
A brief stop at the farm shop near Kings Sutton

The shop itself was a bit disappointing....I was hoping for a nice cake to go with our morning coffee (so was Geoff!) but no luck.   I did try some of their sausages which come I think from their rare breeds........we tried them tonight but once again a bit disappointing......
