Steam Train and Bosworth Battlefield

It seems we were not alone in our poor opinion of the BBC's coverage of the Thames Pageant and that we should have been watching the SKY News Channel....unfortunately too late now....
Today it was away from boats and hello to steam trains.  Although we visited the Bosworth Battlefield Centre on our visit here six years ago we did not try the train trip so today was the day to rectify that omission.  Luckily the heavy rain of yesterday had disappeared, although it was still very chilly....a fact which Geoff had a good moan about!
We awoke to this view from our kitchen window, what could be better.....
Then to Shackerstone station where we had our morning coffee (well really hot chocolate and chocolate cake!) in the Victorian tea rooms
and then watched our steam engine come along.

There would have been a video of the train with all it's steam if I had not inadvertently deleted it before transferring to the computer...........
Since our last visit there is a new memorial to all the 1000 who fell on the day of the battle......at least we thought it was new but it might have been our memory
We remember it as being a very good exhibition but since we had already paid £17 to come on the train we decided not to pay another £13 to go in(6.50X2) old fogies rate...
We sat in the cafe for a snack lunch and watched some of the play acting going past..
 this was the King arriving......
Finished the trip by travelling back in the Victorian Buffet carriage...unfortunately the bar was not open....
