So I had one last trip on the faithful Petroc. Giles joined me to take the new owners Ralph and Michelle, on a familiarisation trip from Cropredy to Banbury
The weather was exceptionally kind to us so I should really say it was a lovely day…..in reality I found it an incredibly sad day.however we are thankful for the 15 great years we have had aboard. We have been over almost the entire network apart from the middle levels.
Geoff is safely home in Cornwall and doing better than expected with his mobility.. Onward with the next chapter in our lives.
That’s all folks

Thank you for sharing your lives during the Petroc years. As this chapter comes to a close, I hope and pray that Geoff's recovery will be an indication of the way you will be able to look ahead. Congratulations to your lovely family for the way they have supported you.
Best wishes for the future. John S has said what I wanted to say - and he has been through a somewhat similar process so knows what it is like. We know that our time is limited and we have started each season for the past few wondering if this will be the last! We did our spring shakedown cruise a couple of weeks back and have the measure of what we can or cannot do. This weekend we set off for the season's perambulation, still returning back home at intervals. At least we will have help up Tardebigge and down the Wolverhampton 21! BTW, I am now officially a Waterways Chaplain (lay and probationer). When I initially enquired I made it clear that we hope to be away quite a bit but so are many WWCs.
Have a load of sympathy for you both. It is indeed difficult to say goodbye; one has to mourn a sense of loss. But the memories are still there and will live forever. We will miss visiting you on Petroc when we next come to the UK Thank you for the chance to share your lovely boat. I remember you and Geoff lending us your very comfortable bed. Not sure where you slept!
Best wishes for future adventures, as we know the Lovegroves will move on
We wish you both all the best in the future. Good luck in all that you do. x
Sad to see you go but happy that Geoff is improving.
