Grey days in the Black Country

The journey from Bumble Hole to Merry Hill was definitely grey and not a bit wet!!   At least the rain stopped by the time we reached Park Head Junction and the very sharp left hand turn into the lock, and our one lock of the day,
Even Geoff decided on a little shelter.
Barney does not have the inclination to come below even in the pouring rain
After the junction Barney and I were able to have our walk of the day.    Only a couple of boats at Merry Hill and there is space for about 20 +.   Not the most amenable place for dogs but it can be coped with.

I decided to visit the huge shopping area in the afternoon, with one of my tasks to see what a new battery would cost for Geoff's iphone.  (one of my cast off's)   I ended up spending 1 1/2 hours in the EE shop and getting him a brand new iphone tacked onto my contract.    What a lovely surprise for him!!!!   Since he has received it he has spent considerable time playing with it..........in fact last night he was almost rivalling our son-in-law for attention to mobile phone!!!

The forecast for Tuesday was not brilliant so we decided to have a layover day before tackling the 24 locks ahead.

Total distance:3.96 miles
Elapsed time:1h56m52s
Locks:1
Bridges:21
Average speed:2.03 mph (2.54 lock/mph)
